The Hovertravel sponsored, Isle of Wight Golf Team, including staff member Matt Barnicoat, have won their latest match against the Dorset Under 21 team with an impressive display on the short but tight course at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset. The match saw Greg Hammond (Shanklin) and Nat Riddett (Freshwater) make their county debuts with Nat being called into the team at the last minute to replace an injured George Foreman. In sunny but breezy conditions, the team played very well in the morning foursomes matches. The Island side paired off with club colleagues and the team work showed as they took 4 of the 5 matches. The other match resulted in a half when the Dorset team chipped in at the 18th for a birdie leaving Hammond to nervelessly hole from 8 feet for Birdie to remain at all square.
