Current Vacancy - Engineering Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role in the team operating the world’s favourite hovercraft service. With two GHL 12000D hovercraft in its fleet, Hovertravel operates the only year-round scheduled passenger hovercraft service outside of Japan.

Working closely with the Head of Marine Operations, this job involves taking responsibility for all hovercraft engineering activities to deliver a safe, efficient and reliable hovercraft operation. The Engineering Manager will be required to provide leadership to the engineering team, directing the engineering function and maintenance activities including implementing and monitoring necessary preventative maintenance. Additionally this role is a point of liaison for engineering matters with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and key stakeholders including equipment manufacturers and suppliers.

We are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a senior engineering position in the marine industry.
  • Ability to administer technical & budgetary requirements.
  • Experience of managing internal & external engineering crews.
  • Excellent problem solver.
  • Good communication skills.
  • IT literate, competency in the use of MS Office is desirable.
  • Excellent team working skills.
