Solent Views officially open for business

Ryde’s newest meeting venue is now open for bookings. Hovertravel renovated their terminal building earlier this year and have used a soft launch over the summer to test the newly created meeting facility on the first floor.

Neil Chapman, managing director of Hovertravel, explains: “Alongside the re-modelling of the customer areas and the installation of a Changing Places toilet, we upgraded our back office spaces and created a venue with a view which is unique to the island, to the UK and the world. With floor to ceiling windows and a balcony, Solent Views overlooks both the pad and operation of the world’s only year round commercial passenger hovercraft service.

Over the past few months we invited several groups to test the space so we could get feedback and ensure our offering was appropriate. The feedback was unanimously positive with all the delegates praising the location.”

The facility has two rooms, which in meeting format can seat 14 and 8 delegates, whilst if configured as one open area, events of up to 50 guests can be accommodated. There is free WIFI as well as teleconferencing equipment, plus catering exclusively using local suppliers from the Isle of Wight can be provided.

Conveniently located on Ryde’s seafront Esplanade, there is plenty of car parking for island visitors and for delegates from the mainland, Hovertravel can arrange transport from individual tickets through to private charters.
