Dinosaur Isle Museum is located in the beautiful Sandown Bay near to the famous fossil beach Yaverland. The museum tells the 130-million-year story of the Island through its fossils from tiny shells to massive dinosaurs. The Island is world famous for its dinosaur and other fossil remains, and the museum is home to the best finds from the Island including Britain’s newest dinosaur discoveries, which can’t be seen anywhere else.
Combining real fossils with skeletons and fleshed models you can explore the lost world of our dinosaurs in a reconstructed landscape. You can meet the museum’s palaeontologists working in the laboratory on the latest finds. You can handle real dinosaur bones and get advice on where to go to search yourself, and get your finds identified by experts.

- Our Ryde Hoverport is situated next to Ryde Esplanade Rail Station where Island Line trains operate to Sandown. On arrival at Sandown Station Dinosaur Isle is an approximate 20 minutes walk.
- Alternatively our Ryde Hoverport is situated next to Ryde Transport Interchange where Southern Vectis Buses 8, 2 or 3 services operate to Sandown. Buses 2 or 3 stop in Sandown with a lovely 20-minute stroll along the Seafront to Dinosaur Isle or Bus 8 stops on the seafront a short walk away. For more information visit Southern Vectis.
